Cats and Cupcakes

It’s coming towards me! It wants my cupcake!” Ashley shrieked, as she held up her plate in the air, the cupcake sitting atop it daintily.

“It doesn’t want your stupid cupcake!” Rose screamed, trying to grab the kitten and failing miserably, as it bounded away.

The kitten in statement had previously leapt over the pillow, straightaway making its way for the under the sofa, its current safe place. The two girls stared at the ground in dismay.

Rose was the first to look away.

“Why won’t it try to eat my cupcake?” She mourned, as she looked at her plate sadly.

Ashley looked at her cousin in disgust.

“Because it doesn’t want your cupcake! Who even wants to eat a Tutti Fruity cupcake in the first place? Even the cat has the taste.” Ashley spoke candidly, looking at Rose as if she was being beyond absurd.

Rose threw her a scornful look.

“Shut up. Not everyone likes chocolate.”

Ashley looked thoughtful at her words.

“You’re right. Everyone except you likes chocolate.” She said at last, wearing a smug expression over her face. In return, she was hit with something soft on her face.

“HEY!” She yelled as Rose flung a cushion at her face. Rolling her eyes at Ashely, Rose got up from her seat, flouncing off.

She could hear Ash’s giggles from behind, and unknowingly smiled.
